CREA and BTLT are partnering to bring Wild Wonders kits to children in our community this fall! Wild Wonders are tried and true activities that bring fun, purpose, creativity, and learning to trips outdoors. While this project was conceived with the goal of getting children outdoors, many of the activities are enjoyed by people of all ages.
Some of the activities are very simple. Our goal is to get children outside and engage their innate sense of curiosity and wonder. When children (and adults!) look closely at nature , there is much to amaze and delight! Even the simple act of moving through and observing nature develops cognitive and physical skills in children.
Each kit contains all the materials a child needs to enjoy these nature-based activities on their days away from school. Kits are free and activities can be adapted for children ages 3-14. Kits are being distributed at Topsham Public Library and Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program. Quantities are limited, but most materials are easy to pull together. We are posting kit activities every week on the Activities page of our website along with a list of needed supplies, so you can put together your own Wild Wonders kit!
Join us for each new weekly activity, and let us know what you think! Send photos of your adventures and creations to !
