Hot, Humid Highlights from CREA Annual Meeting

The 90° heat did not deter CREA members from turning out for an outdoor Annual Meeting on the deck of our new office at Brunswick Landing. There was just enough shade from the building, a steady breeze, and lemonade to keep everyone…well, if not cool, relatively comfortable!

CREA Educators Sarah Rodgers and Carey Truebe were on hand with displays of animal pelts and bones which they use to engage students. Some tried their hand at nature trivia. Then all gathered for a brief business meeting. Board President Ellen Bennett welcomed everyone, thanked the staff for their work during a challenging year, and honored Ron Strand with the Founders’ Award. You can view her comments here.

Executive Director Caroline Eliot gave an overview of the year, starting with thanking members for their continued support during a year that was difficult for everyone. She also acknowledged the staff who found themselves educating their children three days per week, on top of adapting programs to fit COVID constraints. You can find her comments here and a copy of our 2020 Annual Report here.

Following the meeting, many continued to Flight Deck Brewing to socialize over beer and pizza. Thanks to all who braved the heat to attend!
