Our Moderator for the series is Tim Glidden, recently retired from serving as President of Maine Coast Heritage Trust since 2011. Prior to that, he led the Land for Maine’s Future program and has been active on the environmental scene in Maine since 1983.
Building Resilience in Challenging Times Speakers:
Dr. Anne Hallward is host and founder of Safe Space Radio and a board certified psychiatrist in Portland, Maine. She recently hosted a podcast on climate courage in which she shared stories of people finding ways to address their anxiety about climate change. Formerly on the faculty at Harvard Medical School, Anne is the recipient of the Ulrich B. Jacobsohn Lifetime Achievement Award from the Maine Association of Psychiatric Physicians, the Jeanne Spurlock Social Justice Award from the Association of Women Psychiatrists, and an Exemplary Psychiatrist Award from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
Ogechi Obi is a high school junior and environmentalist from Bangor, Maine. She participates in her school’s Stormwater Management and Research Team (SMART), advocates for climate education policy, and engineers sustainable replacements for plastic every year as part of her school’s STEM academy. This past summer, she worked as a community organizer for Maine Environmental Education Association (MEEA).
The Cathance River Education Alliance (CREA) and Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust (BTLT) are co-sponsoring a six-part weekly series on climate in January and February. The goal of this series is to inspire people to:
- Take action to slow and hopefully reverse climate change
- Actively support efforts to address climate change at all levels (public, private, local, state, federal)
- Talk to friends, family, and others about climate solutions.
