Reading the Forest for Clues to the Past

August 21 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Free

Join wildlife biologist and forester Steve Pelletier and local historian Dana Cary for a journey into the past. What do current conditions in the Preserve tell us about how it has been used and managed over time? Our guides will point out and decipher clues to the past scattered across the land. See what secrets can be unlocked by observing the age, condition, and species composition of trees.  Learn history from rock piles, quarries and other markers of past activity.

Expect to walk 1.5 miles at a moderate pace on this guided tour. Walk limited to 15 participants. Free, but registration required. If program fills, email to be placed on the waitlist. Click on the button below to register.
