Join the Southern Midcoast Forest Playgroup at CREA!
It’s not a stick. It’s a magic wand! A paintbrush! A baton! Come explore the Cathance River Nature Preserve for a morning of imagination and outdoor exploration. We’ll head out on a short hike to explore the wonders of the Cathance River Nature Preserve as spring unfolds and read Not A Stick! by Antoinette Portis. (We planned this program for March, originally, but took advantage of fresh snow instead. So we’ll play with our ‘not a sticks’ in April!) This program is perfect for ages 2-5 with a caregiver.
This is a drop-in program, registration is not required to attend. We will meet light rain, snow, or shine!
Families do not need to bring anything but themselves and appropriate attire based on location and weather. We recommend that you bring water and snacks for your family.
Some trails may be slippery, icy, or muddy, you never know in April! Everyone should wear outerwear and footwear appropriate for the weather and conditions.
The Southern Midcoast Forest Playgroup is a free, parent-facilitated program that aims to provide a space for like aged-children to explore, learn, and interact outside. This branch meets every Thursday at 9:30am at different locations in the Southern Midcoast region. Weekly adventures are typically posted the Sunday or Monday before the adventure on their Facebook page.
