A New Look at an Old Fish: Maine’s Amazing Sturgeon

May 23 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

If you aren’t familiar with the prehistoric sturgeon, we hope you’ll join us to learn more about this ancient and charismatic species that inhabits the Androscoggin and other Maine rivers. We’ll learn about the two sturgeon species in Maine, their life history, physical characteristics (they can get BIG!), habits (why do they jump?… and how can we know?), where are they…and when, and thoughts on how we can work together to conserve these fascinating animals.

Dr. Gayle Zydlewski, Professor at the University of Maine’s School of Marine Science will be our guide as we continue our series focusing on the Androscoggin River.
