March 23 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Patrick Keenan of Portland-based Biodiversity Research Institute will highlight observations and outcomes from ten years of songbird monitoring at BRI’s River Point Conservation Area in Falmouth. He will describe their bird capture and banding methods, research projects, and baseline monitoring goals.

Patrick is a graduate of Colby College (2000) and earned a MS in Zoology and Physiology from the University of Wyoming (2007). Over the last 20 years Patrick has participated in research and conservation work in many capacities – as a student, bird biologist, project manager, volunteer and intern coordinator, researcher and collaborator, educator, and outreach and bird observatory director. Much of this work has occurred at Biodiversity Research Institute where he has worked since 2007, currently serving as the Education and Outreach Director. Patrick enjoys time with his family including hiking and camping, playing and coaching soccer, gardening, and keeping the family chickens away from the neighborhood fox.
