CREA Family Drop-In: Native Seed Planting!
December 12, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm
FreeStop by the Ecology Center on Sunday – December 12th during our Open House hours to join CREA Executive Director, Caroline Eliot and volunteer Barbara Murphy for some seed exploration!
Children can hunt for seeds outside the Ecology Center, plant their own native seed pot to take home, and examine seeds under our microscopes. These activities are just another fun way to connect with nature while exploring the Cathance River Nature Preserve and the CREA Ecology Center.
The Ecology Center is packed with amazing animal mounts, mineral exhibits, nature books, and even a human-powered electricity machine.
If your child has come to CREA on a school field trip or spent time at camp with us, this is a perfect time to return with the whole family and let them give you a tour! We also have scavenger hunts for inside the Ecology Center and out on the trail. The pellet stove will be on for a nice warm-up after exploring the outdoors!
Can’t make it to the Preserve for our activity? Plan another weekend visit that works better for your schedule.
December Open House Dates (12 – 2pm):
- Sunday, Dec. 5
- Sunday, Dec. 12
- Sunday, Dec. 19
- Sunday, Dec. 26
This is a free drop-in program. Registration is not required to attend.
